Pastoral Care

The pastoral group was recommenced January 2009. The role is seen as a support to our minister, Rev John Beacom. Pastoral Care is one of the priority action areas within the church and all of us appreciate the amount of time and action the pastoral team put into supporting our families.

The whole congregation acts as an unoffical pastoral group simply by being a good neighbour, friend and caller to anyone in need of a pick-me-up. Alongside this the pastoral group which has 9 members calls with church members who are:-

  • Unable to attend Church
  • Ill and in hospital or have returned home
  • And all church members over 80 years of age

The visits are flexible and take whatever format is preferred, eg prayer, reading the Bible, or simply having a good chat. These may happen 1 visit per month or by arrangement. Each member has 3 or 4 families allocated to them.

If there is a need for Rev Beacom to visit, this can be also arranged.

The group meets approximately 2 times per year to review the activity of the group.

If there are families who would like someone from the church to call with them at home or when in hospital, please contact Alex Cromie.
