Girls Brigade

The 206th N.I. Ballinamallard Methodist Girls’ Brigade company was established in 1966 and continues to flourish, meeting on a weekly basis from September through to Easter each year. The Girls’ Brigade motto is to “Seek, Serve and Follow Christ” and our aim is to help girls to become followers of Jesus.

On Thursday, 14th October, the Girls’ Brigade Explorer and Junior sections met back in the hall for the first time since March 2020! The GB leaders welcomed returning members as well as a number of new families that joined.  The Senior/Brigader section had their first night back on Thursday 21st October and continue to meet on alternate weeks  in the current circumstances.

Girls’ Brigade looks a bit different but we continue to be focused on giving the members the opportunity to have fun and fellowship together again after so much time apart.  The volunteers have been busy making preparations over many weeks and girls have now been registered. However, if you know of anyone who would like to join GB but who hasn’t registered, please get in contact with our Captain, Lee (07762 547384) or email ballinamallard@gbni.co.uk in the first instance. There are a limited number of spaces available in the Junior (P5-P7) and Senior/Brigader sections (Year 8-14). Currently, there are no places available in the Explorer section (3 years – P4) but we will have a waiting list should more space become available.

We would really appreciate your prayers at this time of change and challenge for both girls and leaders as we aim to continue to ‘Seek, Serve and Follow Christ.’

OUR COMPANY

At Ballinamallard Girls’ Brigade we are passionate about teaching our girls about Jesus. It is our desire to value, nurture and equip our girls for life, in a Christ-centred way through weekly activities including Bible class, lots of fun with games, craft, drama, singing, baking as well as meeting new friends. We operate a varied programme with badge-work in four areas; spiritual, physical, educational and service. Girls can participate in district and NI competitions as well as company day trips, camps and youth leadership training.

We are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all our members. Each section is led by trained female volunteers who are Access NI checked and receive regular safeguarding training updates.

We meet on Thursday evenings in the church hall and all girls aged between 3 and 18 years old are very welcome. Further information can be obtained by contacting our Captain, Mrs Lee McDaid, at ballinamallard@gbni.co.uk.
