Worship

Worship is giving honour and praise  to God and is central to our church life.  It can take many forms  and encompasses everything that brings glory to God.  It includes music, Bible Study, Holy Communion and  fellowship groups.

MUSIC

Music plays an important role in the life of our church and it enables us to draw closer to God as we seek to worship. The circuit choir adds to our music ministry, both in Ballinamallard and in Trillick. We have currently around twenty members and are always glad to welcome new members. We meet at 7 pm on Wednesday, when preparing to sing at many services throughout the year,. We enjoy the fun and fellowship of our practices as we prepare the music – our prayer is that God will use the music of the choir to uplift, challenge and encourage us all in our walk with God.  We continually seek to add new dimensions to our worship.

In the words of Psalm 150: 3-6 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet,  Praise Him with the lute and harp! Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals!  Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

BIBLE STUDY

Studying God’s word is another important strand to our Worship and is held bi-weekly on Tuesday evenings at 8 pm.  Members from both Ballinamallard and Trillick churches come together for a circuit Bible Study and details of the church hosting is given on the Announcements sheet.

Bible Study is led by Rev Beacom and it is an opportunity to read and discuss Scripture to gain a greater understanding of who God is, His promises and what the future holds.  Different topics are studied which challenges and helps us to grow spiritually. Presently we are studying the topic ‘Glimpse into Eternity’.

Paul in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 indicates for us the purpose of studying God’s word: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work”.

HOLY COMMUNION

Holy Communion is a very central part of our Worship in church when we respond to Jesus’ command to gather at the Lord’s Table to remember and give thanks for His death and resurrection.

1 Corinthians 11:24-25 - And when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”  In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

The Lord’s Supper is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and recalls Christ’s Last Supper with the disciples.  As well as giving us the opportunity to give thanks for the ultimate sacrifice made for us it is a reminder that, through the power of the Holy Spirit, God is always with us and we can walk with Him in faith and thanksgiving.
